New Hampshire residents who purchased Heat Pumps & Central Air Conditioners in 2026

NHSAVES offers rebates on qualifying heat pumps and central air conditioning: $250 per ton on air source heat pumps, up to $2,000 per ton when replacing electric resistance heat, and $70 per ton on ENERGY STAR® certified central air conditioners.

*Rebate based on tonnage calculated by dividing AHRI cooling capacity by 12,000 (e.g., 40,000 Btus cooling / 12,000 = 3.33 tons. 3.33 tons x $/ton = rebate). Limit 5 tons per account. Customers who heat primarily with a working, permanent electric resistance heat and are installing qualified heat pumps may be eligible for up to $1,750 per ton in addition to the standard $250 per ton rebate, if installation is on or after March 23, 2026. For installations between January 1 and March 22, 2026, customers are eligible for an additional $1,000 per ton in addition to the standard $250 per ton. Pre-verification is required. Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a residential electric customer of a participating New Hampshire utility.
  • Must be installed in the service territory of the participating utility.
  • Must meet minimum efficiency requirements.
  • Must be installed between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026.
  • Rebate form and supporting documents must be postmarked no later than January 30, 2027.
  • Electric Resistance Pre-Verification form only required if customer is applying for an enhanced heat pump rebate. Visit NHSaves.com/GetVerified to pre-verify.

Rebates are available for a limited time while funds are available and may be subject to change at any time. Participants who receive equipment incentives through another energy efficiency program offered by your electric utility are not eligible to receive incentives through this program for the same equipment.
